The Ten Commandments.

 

   We have heard that King Dutugemunu, who reigned in Lanka at that time, had a very powerful army. The Mahavansha, which comes to us in the history of Lanka, mentions ten of the most powerful great warriors from that army. These ten are evidence that they were born in the same order as Prince Dutugemunu. These ten are endowed with their own unique powers, which are second to none.

   If we mention the names of those ten warriors, they are: 

1. Nandimitra

2. Suranimala

3. Mahasona

4. Gotaimbara

5. Theraputtabhaya

6. Bharana

7. Velusumana

8. Kanchadeva

9. Pussadeva

10. Labhiyavasabha

. King Dutugemunu had various tests conducted on these warriors to test their physical strength.

All of these people are considered heroic because they helped Dutugemunu in the war. Furthermore, various legends are mentioned in the books about their strength, courage and special deeds.
