Local activities

 

         The people of Sri Lanka are accustomed to engaging in various livelihood activities every day to further their lifestyle. At the same time, people are accustomed to classifying jobs as local and foreign. Industries that provide products and services based on the local resources, labor, and skills available in a country are known as this. Accordingly, let us examine the types of local industries based on the following facts.  

          1.Industry

             *Rice, tea, rubber, coconut, cinnamon,

          2.Industrial products

            *Clothing industry, sugar,                                                          

          3.Arts and handicrafts

            *Wood carving, rattan products, pottery

               In addition, we can name two examples of the textile industry and various service industries.

When we examine the value of local industries in the country, these industries provide many benefits to the Sri Lankan people.
